[ true to his word, he invites tory to constantine's old shop where obi-wan runs his classes. usually he works one to one since that's the format he's most familiar with. he takes his position, his legs crossed as he waits patiently for tory to arrive.

he would look a little off since the last time they saw each other though. there are more grey hairs and he looks very tired.

and yet, obi-wan smiles. ]

Welcome.

[abornfighter]

[Tory doesn't know what exactly happened. In Trench, there are plenty of terrible things that could be responsible for Obi-Wan's present state. One thing's for sure - the man looks like he's seen better days.]

Hey Obi-Wan. If you're not feeling well, we can reschedule.

[jedies]

Oh dear, do I look that bad?

[ he runs his hand over his beard. ]

I'll admit I haven't glanced at a mirror lately.

[abornfighter]

You look really tired. Like something aged you by a few years since the last time we saw each other.

[Which, given all the monsters, corruption, and other random horrors and unpleasantries, would be entirely understandable.

But still, she's concerned. Even without having a thorough understanding of his powers, from what he's explained about being able to sense other people's emotions, people's fear and corruption can't be doing him any favours.

Not one to mince words or sugar coat, she's direct in her approach.]

You haven't been sleeping well lately, have you?

[jedies]

[ he blinks, caught off guard. ]

Well, it has been rather restless of late. But that can't be helped unfortunately.

[abornfighter]

Are you worried about something from home? Or something that happened here?

[Stress can age people. And while it may not be her place to pry into all the details, she's going to at least push him to address the problem instead of accepting it as something that can't be helped.]

[jedies]

No, nothing like that. I just remembered a great deal of . . . baggage, I suppose. I'm still in the processing stage.

But thank you. Your compassion warms me.

[abornfighter]

You're going to have trouble processing it for a long time if you're not taking care of your basic needs.

[Tory's never been one to mince words. She's fairly blunt. She's also accustomed to being her family's caregiver due to her mother's illness. Taking on that role at her age means she has less of a sense of boundaries when it comes to pushing at someone significantly older than her when it comes to their health and general well being.]

Let's skip the lesson for today. We can have some tea and talk. When was the last time you ate?

[jedies]

[ er. ]

I'm sure I've been eating regularly. My family's seeing to it.

[ but he can't really remember. so much of it has been a blur. ]

[abornfighter]

If you can't remember the last time you ate, it's clearly been long enough that you have room for some tea and a snack.

[Sorry, Obi-Wan. She's going to push. It's one of the ways she shows she cares.]

I might be able to help a little with the sleeping problem. It won't fix whatever's bothering you, but it is good for anxiety and restless sleep.

[jedies]

[ he inclines his head politely. ]

I'm always open to suggestions.

[abornfighter]

[Though meditation has been helpful in general, the way it's been the most beneficial to her is in controlling her ability to reality warp objects into existence. It happens much more purposely and rarely by accident now, and thankfully the accidents haven't involved wasps lately.

Tory shuts her eyes and focuses, arms held out in front of her. At first it looks like a cloud black and dark blue glitter until it takes form, draping heavily onto her arms. It's a plain medium grey and doesn't look like anything special other than something comfortable to use.

The other notable thing about it is that it has a very mild, light and fresh floral scent to it, with a mix of sweetness and herbs.]

It's a weighted blanket. It's supposed to keep you from tossing and turning in your sleep and feel more secure and safe. The scent of lavender also has a calming effect so I mixed the two.

[She holds it out for him to inspect.]

[ obi-wan takes it curiously, a smile playing on his face. ]

You'll be the first to know.

[abornfighter]

At the very least, it can't hurt, and you've got an extra blanket around your house.

[Which reminds her. Something she'd been curious about.]

Did you ever find out who TPed your house?

[jedies]

No, but that's all right. It was a harmless prank.

[ obi-wan has his suspicions but they're not important. ]

[abornfighter]

Okay. Want to work on that glitter bomb anyway? We can make it just for fun after you've started sleeping better.

[If meditation is failing Obi-Wan, then Tory wonders if perhaps a distraction or two might be welcome as he works through whatever is troubling him.

In that case, she elaborates on why she'd suggested the glitter bombs in the first place.]

Then the next time someone pranks you, you've got something around. There's this engineer from home who makes them to prank package thieves - porch pirates. His videos of the results were pretty funny. He put a camera in the package so you could see the harmless mayhem in action.

[jedies]

[ obi-wan smiles, the corners of his eyes crinkling. ]

I'm not sure if that's a reputation I wish to cultivate.

[abornfighter]

Part of what would make it hilarious if you did it is because you don't have a reputation for doing it. Plus, you'd have the element of surprise.

[Though she doesn't think he's likely to actually put it into action, talking about it can at least serve as a distraction.]

[jedies]

I certainly would not dismiss it.

Perhaps I'll save the idea for the right moment.

[abornfighter]

Then maybe we should work on building it so that it's ready when it is the right moment.

[Despite how tired he looks, maybe he needs some more pleasant thoughts in his head to combat whatever is eating at him.]

How good are you with technology?

[jedies]

I'm not too shabby.

Hey. I had the room and I car--he's my friend.

[She cuts herself off before she says anything embarrassing.]

How did that go?

[It's a good sign that Johnny took initiative on his own to do that instead of letting it fester, at least.]

[Johnny holds himself back from making a sound. Go Robby, Go.

Look. He was a teenager once himself.]

Yeah, sure.

[That is all he will say there.]

Better than I thought it would. I think, we didn't leave off in a fight.

That's pretty good for us.

Oh, good. Glad it went well. Sorry I didn't tell you when he got here. I thought it would be better if he contacted you when he was ready.
